The story begins
  • Be at the forefront of reimagining outdoor apparel design by shaping concepts, color/graphic directions, and consumer-centric storytelling in the Outdoor Technical category
  • Drive innovation in materials, craftsmanship, and design excellence while setting the seasonal tone for your category
  • Direct and oversee all designs in your category in close collaboration with the Creative Director and the design team, ensuring clear direction and cohesive, inspirational, and market-relevant collections
  • Stay ahead of trends in silhouettes, colors, prints, and material innovations
  • Conduct ongoing market and competitor research via store checks and JW in-store visits
  • Ensure team deliverables meet timelines, quality standards, and project goals
  • Collaborate across categories such as Outdoor Lifestyle, Equipment (EQT), and Footwear (FTW) on seasonal stories, branding, trims, and color schemes
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams on category-specific projects, presentations, and deliverables
  • Apply strategic thinking to shape the product range and explore new opportunities
  • Lead and mentor your team—encouraging their growth and entrepreneurial development within the brand
  • Brief material, development, and fit teams on seasonal category needs
  • Attend fittings and prototype reviews while mentoring your team on fit and product excellence
  • Proactively identify improvement opportunities to support margin and business objectives
Your proven path
  • Degree in Fashion or Apparel Design (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in creative leadership within the apparel/textile industry
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Hands-on experience in the design process and team development
  • Positive, solution-oriented mindset in fast-paced environments
  • Entrepreneurial drive and opportunity-focused thinking
  • Knowledge of apparel product creation processes, development timelines, and data management systems
  • Creative mindset with a deep understanding of commercial viability
  • Solid understanding of the outdoor industry, consumers, and product performance requirements
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign; knowledge of 3D design tools is a plus
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
