The Carpathian Mountains in Romania

Together with our long-term partners, the Fundatia Conservation Carpathia and ASI Reisen, we have prepared our own hiking trail which meets the highest sustainable standards. 10 per cent of the cost of the holiday goes directly to the Carpathia foundation and will be used for sustainable nature conservation measures.

The Carpathian Mountains in Romania

One of the largest and most untouched natural regions in Europe

This mountainous region still contains the largest primeval forest still in existence in Europe and is considered to be the continent’s green lung.

On the trail of animals: numerous wild animals live in this region, including bears, lynxes, wolves, deer or European bison.

The British newspaper, The Guardian, listed Romania in its “Alternative Hotlist” in 2020 as a destination worth visiting.

“You do not have to fly to South Africa to go on a safari. Romania is one of the best places in Europe to see large mammals in the wild."
